Our NEXT Project:
The Screenplay, "Sagallala Speaks" was written as a Western Adventure tale of a girl who arrives in the Northwest on a quest to save the endangered Salmon. The plot showcases the magnificent Columbia River and all the exciting things that happen up the river, from the perspective of an optimist who's about to find out just how hard it is to change things.
The movie was designed to be a full-length Action Adventure Romance. It follows a young Marine Biologist who's determined to find out who's really responsible for wiping out the Salmon. The Screenplay was specifically written with the goal of focusing national and international attention on the dramatic decline of these iconic symbols of the Pacific Northwest and the real reasons behind their peril, so the public can demand that we act - before it is 'too late.'
The story of the Endangered Salmon has a lesson for us about saving them, and saving ourselves.
The film will feature an inspiring, avante gard Soundtrack that helps paint the picture of why such invaluable resources deserve to be saved. Great Music can inspire great change - and it is our hope that by focusing Public Awareness on this pressing issue, that we can avoid the looming Extinction of the Salmon.
The movie takes place amid the sweeping beauty of the Columbia Gorge, some of the most breath-taking scenery on the continent. And the exciting ending finds our heroine in the heart of the Hell's Canyon Wilderness, being held for ransom by a Survivalist, and "whoever has been dumping RadioActive Nuclear Waste into the River."
We have tried to make sure that all sides of this controversy are allowed to voice their own ideas. The Screenplay makes every attempt to be objective, but we have also outlined the necessary ecological solutions 'between the lines'. So the film will also make clear the steps needed to 'turn the tide' of the salmon's impending Extinction.
The story is filled with a cast of fascinating 'Cascade' of characters:
Cowboys & Capitalists; DC diplomates & 'Earth First' protestors - everybody shows up in the plot, and is allowed to have their own opinions heard. We follow the heroine through fun adventures as she discovers what's happening to the River. She finds a lot of hurdles must be overcome, even if "you're working on the inside" like she is.
So - Who's really killing the River, ... and the Salmon?
We will let the audience find out for themselves who the real villians are! We are just creating a "fictitious'' adventure tale,...- that co-incidentally happens to accurately 'mirror' the present perilous situation. We intend to " Tell it, like it is!"
The reality of this Endangered Species story is that time really is running out for the salmon! Each year...fewer and fewer of them return to the River of their birth. There use to be millions of them, but..... now, the only way the salmon might have a chance, is if we undo the things that we have done to cause them to be so 'Endangered" - otherwise,
the mighty Columbia will become "A River of Ghosts".
The situation as it now stands, is so severe, that only way that the salmon can be saved is by a public clamor for reversing the real causes of their imminent extinction. This screenplay is designed to show the real solutions.
- It's 'Now or Never" for the salmon.
- Please join us in 'making a difference' for this Endangered Species!
The Salmon and the River are depending on us -
