PHASE ONE:   Fall 2009

Soundtrack of Movie & CD    -    "Songs for the River"


Our group has the specific goal of "Giving a Voice" to Artists who want to speak up for preserving the natural world, like saving species that are in danger of going extinct.       Toward that end, we have begun our first "Artists4Action!"  project, an urgent               "Save the Salmon" Campaign!

The initial part of this two-phase effort is a Companion CD of "Songs For the River", which is a compilation of the actual songs used throughout the movie.  Each song helps paint the picture of why our Rivers need protecting. A unique thing about this CD is that each of the contributing artists (See list below) will have an opportunity to donate all or part of their earnings from the songs they have voluntered for this effort, if they so wish.

Profits from the sale and distribution of "Songs for the River" CD will be given to the 'Columbia Riverkeeper', who have been environnmental leaders in saving the Columbia and our Salmon.

The Columbia Riverkeeper is a great environment group that has stepped forward to protect the Columbia River & all the wildlife that depend on it, especially the salmon.

Our initial campaign has two components designed to bring prompt focus to this critical subject:  a Screenplay, intented to be a full-length Motion Picture, with the working title, "Sagallala Speaks"; & a commercial CD collaboration composed of songs by individual 'green' musicans and groups, that will form the Soundtrack and score for the Movie.


We appreciate the energy & enthusiasm that the individual artists who have joined our new campaign.  We are speaking for the earth, and these talented musicians have shown their environmental support by joining our creative effort; - we hope to make this 'A Movement'!

We believe that artists can 'make a difference' by using their creative talents to make a case for "saving all the pieces".  The earth will be greatful for their support, as are we.
